Atlas field workstation open at dusk

Atlas

A place to prepare. A base to return to.

A field station direction for tools, energy and task resources.

Prepare the whole operation

An aircraft is one part of a field operation. Atlas explores how tools, batteries, computing and task records can share a considered base.

  1. Deploy

  2. Prepare

  3. Support

Three ways to reach the field

Concept configurations. Layout and equipment are defined with the project.

Atlas · Portable workstation concept

Portable

A portable station concept for a small field team. Consider transport, access to tools and the space needed to prepare an aircraft.

Ground change. Configuration check

  1. Disable and isolate

Stop actions and isolate relevant power

  2. Inspect and change

    Manual engagement, locking and clearance

  3. Check tool and connection

Manually check tool version and connection state

  4. Review configuration

    Check the changed combination

Between one task and the next

A place to inspect equipment, prepare the next tool and review records. Automatic battery or tool servicing remains a future engineering question.

The task

Repeated deployments with aircraft, batteries, tools and field computing.

The intended result

A considered place for preparation, review and the next task.

Atlas

Make the next task easier to prepare

A field station earns its place through preparation and recovery. Which tool is available, which battery needs attention and where the previous task’s files are stored should be easy to establish. Atlas starts from those operator actions before choosing how much equipment to integrate.

Describe how many people prepare the equipment, how it travels and how often tasks repeat. A compact transport case and a vehicle workspace may solve different bottlenecks. Comparing the actual sequence helps keep the station proportionate to the work rather than filling it with unused functions.
