Quasar

Explore the next flight envelope.

An independent research direction for high-speed flight with fixed axial propulsion pods.

Flight, as an open question

Quasar is an independent high-speed flight research direction. A four-wing concept with four fixed axial propulsion pods explores propulsion, aerodynamics and control; its configuration and performance require validation.

Propulsion

How does the propulsion system behave across a tilt transition? Study loads, power demand and the conditions needed for repeatable measurements.

A result needs a method

A flight claim needs repeatable measurements, stated conditions and a justified test envelope. Performance figures will follow confirmed evidence.

Understand the conditions behind the speed

Increasing speed changes how propulsion, drag, heat and control interact. A brief peak and a sustained operating state ask different questions of the design. Quasar is a separate research direction for examining these relationships, with test conditions and measurement methods defined before comparing results.

A proposal becomes useful when it specifies the flight question: efficiency at a defined condition, thermal behaviour or control response. Concept imagery describes a possible form. A team member’s earlier high-speed project is a separate experience and cannot establish Quasar’s performance.
