Mudflats on the Severn Estuary

Environment & infrastructure

Explore how task sensing could support observation of places and assets.

Proposed approach

Define an observation need, collect relevant context and review it against the intended task.

Super Vision

A dedicated perception module for understanding the work environment.

Operating considerations

Environmental limits, access, sensing performance and data handling need assessment for the intended location.

Contact

Connect the location to the observation and the sample

A location may be viewed from the air and sampled at the water surface. Those records answer different questions and need shared time and location references. The application direction considers their handover, including what the analysis team needs to know about collection conditions.

Start with the analysis objective, sampling frequency and permitted access. Weather, cleaning and recovery constraints then help define a representative first test. The system is being explored as a way to organise collection and context; interpretation still belongs to the chosen analytical method.
