Zeming Su

Aircraft structures, propulsion & prototype validation

Zeming Su is a core member of NOEPRA’s development team. He is primarily responsible for aircraft structures, propulsion systems, mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and prototype testing and validation.

Related project experience

High-speed micro-aircraft

He contributed to the development of a sub-250 g high-speed micro-drone recognised by Guinness World Records, with primary responsibility for aerodynamic fairing, internal structure and propeller-parameter design. In subsequent real-flight tests, the project team achieved a speed of 410 km/h.

The development process covered aerodynamic layout, lightweight structures and propulsion matching, followed by prototype manufacture, flight-control tuning and flight-data analysis through successive iterations.

Tilt-rotor VTOL development

He also contributed to a tilt-rotor VTOL aircraft with a 1.6 m wingspan. He redesigned the motor-tilt mechanism, bearing supports and selected PPS-CF components, and took part in joint propulsion and flight-control commissioning. The prototype completed vertical take-off and landing tests, as well as bidirectional transition tests between hover and fixed-wing flight.

Bringing platform design into flight

At NOEPRA, Zeming develops the mechanical and flight systems of the modular aircraft platform, with a focus on airframe structures and propulsion matching. His work helps turn new platform designs into systems that can be manufactured, flown and continually refined.

Education

Zeming is currently studying for an undergraduate degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at the University of Bristol.
